Mr. Jester has continuously been in the private practice of patent and trademark law for approximately (30) years. He began his career in 1974 at the San Francisco office of Townsend & Townsend & Crew, one of the largest patent and trademark law firms in the United States. During his career Mr. Jester has prepared and prosecuted over four hundred (400) U.S. patent applications in diverse areas of technology including computer peripherals, software and medical devices for large companies such as Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Medtronic as well as many small and medium size companies and individuals. He has also handled the patenting of many electro-mechanical and mechanical inventions. Mr. Jester is the sole named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 4,514,789 on an electrical device, giving him valuable insight from the inventor's side of the patent process. He has rendered many formal patent infringement and validity opinions and periodically negotiated patent and trademark licenses on behalf of clients. In addition, Mr. Jester has prosecuted numerous U.S. trademark and service mark applications.  Mr. Jester has had extensive involvement in patent litigation, including trials and appeals, served as an expert witness, lectured at seminars and law schools, and taught intellectual property law for the University of California Extension Program. He is admitted to practice before all four U.S. District Courts in the State of California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit which has exclusive jurisdiction over appeals involving patent infringement and validity.
